Tom Hayden, an icon of the anti-vietnam war movement and retired state Senator in California joined us on Monday to discuss his efforts to get the US out of Iraq. Dec. 4th was the Mandate for Peace national call-in day and Mr. Hayden had a great deal of advice for where we go from here. The second segment of the show featured Prof. Stephen Zunes, whose ever insightful comments on broader Middle East policiies should not be missed.

Action Steps:
Peace movement needs to redouble our efforts and keep the pressure on Congres not to be placated with troop pull down that are not part of a full withdrawal from Iraq. Hayden suggests that if you have four people at your vigil, get eight. If you banner once a week, now do it twice a week, etc. Keep the pressure on to make funding contigent on withdrawal.
